They became a great conservationists
The pangolin, the only scaly mammal and the most smuggled mammal in the world, lived on the planet before the arrival of dinosaurs. These animals have a great defense system, where they curl up into a ball and thanks to their hard scales, it is said that not even a tiger can crack them. Unfortunately, this strategy is completely ineffective against humans - pangolins do not have teeth, they do not need them, as they only eat ants and termites. More than 100,000 pangolins are killed every year for meat and traditional medicine and therefore all species of pangolins are on the edge of extinction. Their value on the market is enormous and the locals therefore have no mercy. These former hunters, now great conservationists, decided to protect these animals instead of killing them. And they do it under the patronage of The Kukang Rescue Program foundation, which protects slow lorises and other protected animals already 10 years in Indonesia.
